SeniorBridge San Antonio Office Receives 2009 Distinguished Service to Elders Award

Elder Law Section of San Antonio Bar Association Gives Honor

(SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS), November 30, 2009 - SeniorBridge, a provider of professional services for individuals requiring care for chronic health conditions, has received the “Distinguished Service to Elders Award” from the Elder Law Section of the San Antonio Bar Association. The award was created to recognize businesses in San Antonio that dedicate energy, resources and personnel to educate, protect and provide services outside of and beyond their standards of practice for the elderly in our community.

Says Shawn P. Hughes, Secretary of the Elder Law Section of the San Antonio Bar Association, “SeniorBridge was a clear choice for the award this year, based upon the way the San Antonio office goes above and beyond to advocate for seniors. Executive Director Isaac Kadane and Senior Care Manager Nancy Ortiz, RN, have been instrumental in continuing and improving on the close involvement with our community as we work to meet the needs of vulnerable seniors in San Antonio.” “I am very excited that we have been selected to receive this honor,” says Executive Director Isaac Kadane. “It is a pleasure to work with the Bar Association in helping seniors in our community, and we are truly honored by this recognition.” A permanent plaque acknowledging SeniorBridge’s contribution will hang in the doorway of the city’s courthouse.

The SeniorBridge integrated system of care in the home encompasses a full range of services. A multidisciplinary care team provides coordinated in-home services, including nursing, psychosocial support, personal care, companionship and enhancement of wellness to maximize client health. Clinical research has shown that this approach can lead to reduced emergency room visits, unnecessary hospital admissions and institutionalization for patients with complex chronic conditions. Families experience more peace of mind, while individuals are more likely to remain at home with quality of life.
