- SeniorBridge, a midsize company based in New York City that offers management of healthcare services for older people, relies on an internal team to identify and vet potential purchases. The company has bought 34 small businesses since it was founded 11 years ago, says Peter Sosnow, senior vice president of corporate development. We've always networked with our competitors in a collegial fashion, so when they were ready to sell, we became one of their first choices, he says. We realized that once we made one acquisition, they would tell their colleagues. This has allowed us to acquire additional companies... We typically put capital into these businesses, hire staff and grow them, says SeniorBridge's Mr. Sosnow.
