Dorothy Burns, RN, MSN, MBA, CCM
Director, Florida Operations
Dorothy's diverse background and more than 35 years experience in healthcare and hospital management significantly influence her clinical and operational leadership of SeniorBridge's branches in the coastal communities of central Florida. Prior to joining the SeniorBridge family she served as Vice President of Clinical Operations at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne where she led strategic planning and monitored safety and quality control for surgical, trauma and patient care services. Before her promotion to Vice President, Dorothy was the Director of Patient Care Services and was instrumental in the development of the hospital's Heart Center. She went on to lead an award winning team designing stroke care and organ donation programs. Specializing in critical care, Dorothy's nursing career includes serving as a Nurse Manager in the Intensive Care Unit at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Pennsylvania and more than 12 years as a rehabilitative, home care and long term care nurse. She is an adjunct nursing faculty member at Brevard Community College in Palm Bay and at University of Central Florida in Orlando. Dorothy holds a Master of Science in Nursing with a Clinical Nurse Specialty from Widener University in Pennsylvania and a Master of Business Administration from University of Central Florida. She is licensed by the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse.
Andrew Palacios
Executive Director
Andrew has more than 6 years of experience in the healthcare field with particular expertise in new business development and budget management. His strong skill-set has also allowed Andrew to develop long-term relationships and provide strategic marketing throughout the state of Florida. Prior to joining SeniorBridge, Andrew served multiple positions in various cities at Maxim Healthcare Services, a healthcare service provider specializing in home health and facility staffing. Most recently Andrew served as Administrator and Account Manager where he managed operations and was responsible for building relationships and communicating with referral sources and healthcare professionals to promote business expansion. Other positions include Accounts Manager where he directed all aspects of marketing and sales activity, was responsible for hiring and training internal teams and developed rebranding campaigns. Andrew earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida.
Jim Shriner
Regional Director of Professional Relations
Jim brings more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare field with particular expertise in sales and business development, new product launches, joint ventures and startups. He started his career in healthcare at Beecham/Smith Kline Beecham, where he worked for 21 years, making his way up from sales representative to senior district sales manager. Prior to joining SeniorBridge, Jim served as Vice President of Business Development at Strategica, Inc., where he successfully negotiated lucrative joint venture ancillary service contracts with hospitals and large multi-specialty practice groups. Other career highlights include introducing telehealth patient tracking initiatives and physician patient oversight software into the Florida market as Vice President of Business Development as Amedisys Home Health Care. and being as a the Eastern Regional Sales Director responsible for initial sales alignment, recruitment, compensation and sales reporting at Covidien. Jim earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies from University of South Florida in Tampa and completed a graduate course in Strategic Business Planning from Washington University at St. Louis. Jim has completed a number of trainings, including but not limited to: professional presentation skills, coaching the professional salesperson, situational leadership and referral focused sales training. Jim is also bilingual and proficient in Spanish.
Kim Miller, ARNP, MSN
Director of Client Services
Kim Miller is a Masters trained nurse who comes to SeniorBridge with nearly 30 years of nursing experience. She received her bachelor's degree from The Pennsylvania State University. Her nursing career began with caring for cancer patients both in the hospital and as a home health nurse. From there, she became involved with research in Cardiology at The University of Florida, and later went on to attend The University of Florida to acquire her Masters degree in Family Practice. Ms Miller has worked for the last 10 years as a Nurse Practitioner. Her experience and clinical expertise includes rehabilitation medicine and geriatric care. She has worked with patients with debilitating, chronic diseases such as stroke, heart disease, lung disease, head trauma and spinal injuries. Most recently, she cared for patients in a geriatric practice. This included caring for older patients in the hospital, a medical office, long term care facilities, assisted living facilities and making house calls. Because of her extensive experience and skills, she is able to continue to pursue her passion to provide care and offer solutions for the special needs of the elderly population and their families.
Shari Schubauer
Director of Professional Relations
Shari brings more than a decade of experience in recruitment and human resource management to her role as Director of Professional Relations. Her breadth of knowledge includes team building and strategic planning and marketing. Prior to joining SeniorBridge, Shari served as Marketing Director for Emeritus Corporation in Deerfield Beach where she planned monthly community events, consistently averaged ten move-ins per month, maintained and developed client relationships and implements quarterly marketing plans. Other career highlights include being responsible for online recruitment via telecom communication as Associate Director for Kaplan University in Fort Lauderdale and establishing training schedules for all departments and five branch locations as Human resource Director at DJ Mead Hubbs and Howe, Inc. in Cheektowaga, New York. Shari earned her Associate of Science degree in Business Management from Bryant & Stratton College in Buffalo, New York and her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management/Human Resources from Kaplan University.
Cynthia Hanson
Operations Manager
Cynthia brings a strong record of administration of independent/assisted living and continuing care background to her role as Operations Manager. Prior to joining SeniorBridge, Cynthia served as a Coordinator for Personalized Living by Brookdale in Fort Lauderdale where she orchestrated the daily operations of a staff of 20, built the business from the ground up to caseload of 35 in collaboration with two nurses, and was responsible for billing, Human Relations and marketing functions. Other career highlights include qualifying prospective residents for continuing care retirement communities by analyzing financial information as Asset Management Coordinator and managing licensing and permitting for more than 100 retirement communities as Licensing & Permits Manager, both positioned at Horizon Bay Retirement Living in Tampa. Cynthia earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon.
Christina Kantrowitz, MSW, C-ASWCM
Senior Care Manager
Ms. Kantrowitz has over 25 years of experience in social work and geriatric care management. Prior to becoming Director of Client Services, she was a Geriatric Care Manager for several years at Florida ElderWatch, one of Southeast Florida's largest geriatric care management practices, which was acquired by SeniorBridge Family in 2001. Before joining Florida Elderwatch Ms. Kantrowitz was the Director of Social Service for Tamarac Rehabilitation & Health Center. Ms. Kantrowitz is a member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers. She has a BSW in Social Work and a MSW in Social Work, both from Adelphi University.
Elesban Alvero, RN, BSN
Care Manager
Elesban brings more than 9 years of professional nursing experience to the role as Care Manager and has a strong commitment for client care and advocacy. Prior to joining SeniorBridge, Elesban served as Registered Nurse at America Quality Care Service HHC. Other career highlights include serving as Supervisor for Victoria Villa Assistance Living Facility in Florida and Attending Physician at Medical Clinic Our Lady of Guadalupe in Peru as well as Attending Physician at hospitals in Bolivia and Cuba. Elesban is also fluent in English and Spanish. Elesban studied general and family practice at University of Camaguey in Cuba, earned a Foreign Educated Physician BSN-MSN degree at Florida International University in Miami, Florida and is currently working on his masters degree in nursing sciences at FIU.
Antuan Llano, RN
Care Manager
Antuan comes to SeniorBridge after serving as the Director of Nursing at Alegre Home Health Care in Miami, Florida where his leadership role at the agency included recruitment, clinical coordination and oversight, admission policy management, care plan development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure safe and high quality accommodations for patients. Previously, he worked for two other Miami-area home care agencies, as a Case Manager for Lesly Home Health Care and as a Case Manager and Clinical Supervisor for Action Home Health Care. After graduation from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Antuan worked as a Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse at Parkway Regional Medical Center in North Miami Beach, Florida. Along with these other accomplishments, Antuan holds a current Florida RN license.
Cory Martin
Associate Care Manager
As former Strength and Conditioning coach for the New York Yankees, Cory brings more than 5 years of experience in the professional fitness industry to SeniorBridge. For the last two years he has spent his time turning his focus to geriatric care and served as a trainer for Florida Atlantic University’s Senior Citizen Wellness Program. Among his accomplishments, Cory also started his own in-home training company specializing in the senior citizen population, which was quite successful. Cory earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. He holds certification in CPR and brings a unique blend of complex and functional training methods, which aim to improve muscular strength, stability, endurance and flexibility, while also focusing on balance and proprioception. Cory's young, energetic and passionate personality creates a fun-filled exercise session in which anyone can achieve his or her fitness goals.
Christine A. Roberts, RN
Care Manager
Ms. Roberts joins SeniorBridge from Tender Loving Care, a home health agency in Boca Raton, Florida for which she was RN, Director of Clinical Services. She has previously worked as RN, Field Representative for the State of Florida, at Emerald Medical Management, Inc. in California, and was a Recovery Room Nurse at the Cleveland Clinic in Ft. Lauderdale. Ms. Roberts also has broad prior experience as an LPN in various medical specialties. She is active in several community organizations, including the Alzheimer's Association in Ft. Lauderdale. She obtained her RN and an associate of science in nursing degree at Broward Community College in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
