As states across the country begin to ease restrictions and take steps to re-open, we want our clients and families to know that we are taking a thoughtful approach to resuming in-person care management visits. Our highest priority remains the health and well-being of our clients, families and associates. As we work to find a “new normal” in the way we provide care to our clients, our goal is to do this right rather than to go fast. Now and as always, you have our commitment that the SeniorBridge team will continue to provide home care in a manner that is safe and meets your individual needs.

Here are some actions we are taking to ensure that we continue to provide safe, high-quality care to our clients:

On-going education for our staff on COVID-19 symptoms and recommended precautions

All SeniorBridge associates receive regular training on COVID-19, its symptoms and recommended precautions provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We continue to monitor updates from the CDC and refine our infection control procedures as needed. In addition to frequent hand washing with soap and disinfecting household surfaces regularly, all caregivers and care managers have ready access to personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks, gloves, gowns and face shields that they will use when clinically appropriate.

Clients who wish to have greater peace of mind have the option of requesting their caregivers and care managers utilize a complete set of personal protective equipment at all times while providing care. Please call your local branch to discuss available options.

Carefully screen and track the health of our clients and associates

We carefully screen all clients and associates telephonically to assess their health status before sending a SeniorBridge associate into a home or facility to provide care. All SeniorBridge associates are required to undergo a daily temperature screening prior to starting their shift. We also track and record all interaction and information from the home visit to ensure we stay up to date with individual situations.

Provide cost-effective virtual care management consultations

We transitioned all non-essential client outreach to telephonic and virtual consultations in March to promote social distancing and limit exposure. Our team of licensed RN and Social Work care managers are available for telephonic consultations to assist clients and families in managing their unique healthcare needs. We are pleased to present a cost-effective solution to families who need help navigating the ever more complex healthcare landscape today. Please call your local branch to speak to a Care Manager about the services that are right for you.

Introducing a new program to safely care for COVID-19 clients in recovery

We are pleased to introduce the new Comprehensive COVID-19 Care program for clients recovering from COVID-19. This program supplements our existing infection control protocols with additional measures recommended by the CDC for the safe health management and recovery of COVID-19 clients. A fully-trained SeniorBridge team of nurses and caregivers will deliver a personalized recovery plan that meets your individual needs. Your caregiver will have ready access to consult with a nurse during service hours, by telephone and video conferencing. A full package of personal protective equipment including a care monitoring device will allow us to provide constant, high-quality care while protecting the health of our associates.

As we make measured and thoughtful plans to resume non-essential home-based consultations, we want to reassure you that our actions are always guided by state, federal and CDC recommendations. For the latest updates on our plans, please follow us on FaceBook or visit us at www.seniorbridge.com/resources/news. Our associates remain accessible to you by phone; a list of SeniorBridge branch telephone numbers can be found on our website at www.seniorbridge.com. An on-call professional is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to assist you.

These unprecedented times can be unsettling for many. We want to reassure you that SeniorBridge is here to help. We are all in this together and we are committed to helping our clients and families as we weather this crisis safely as a community.

Sincerely,
